Entrance Tests
Numerous prestigious universities in India are now accepting applications for doctoral programmes. The Ph.D. admissions process is based on the Research Entrance Test or University Entrance Exam administered at the national level. A personal interview follows, during which the candidates will be asked to present their research idea. One can earn a Ph.D. in three years if they work full-time, or six years if they work part-time. Admission to Doctoral Programmes is GATE, CSIR NET, JEST, UGC NET, and GPAT, among others. Among the many Ph.D. admissions exams offered annually, the UGC-NET is by far the most well-known and widely used.
Engineering, management, law, science, humanities, commerce, social science, mass communication, pharmacy, and other related fields all require Ph.D. admission. A Master’s degree in the appropriate discipline is required, as well a legitimate Ph.D. entrance exam score (or an equivalent CGPA) and an aggregate mark of at least 50–55 percent.
